Originally discovered in 1873 as a Silver ore mine, which was wildly unsuccessful as a Silver mine but set the worlds standard for world class rhodochrosite. This mine is still in production today privately.
This specimen is over a pound and displays several pockets of deposit opaque bubblegum pink rhodochrosite. Absolutely beautiful piece and a rare find.
