Fluorite with chalcopyrite from Twist Pocket Yorkshire UK

This specimen of fluorite with chalcopyrite inclusions comes from the most productive Yorkshire. This piece comes from the Twist pocket from the Gillshead Mine, Skyreholme North Yorkshire, England. The Gillshead Mine opened as a lead mine well before the 1700s and closed in the 1900s then reopened in the 1920s for fluorite mining, it did permanently close commercially in 1980s. All new production is from hobbyist miners and collectors.
This specific piece displays very glassy fluorite cubes with well defined purple edges. It’s not often you find such high grade specimen from this famous self collected pocket, all reside in personal collections.
